bush

Yarra Valley, Victoria

It started with a handwritten itinerary, two bikes, and an esky full of food.

Tom and Jake had been riding the Grampians for years and wanted to share it with the world — properly.

Today, Yonder runs twelve tours across Australia, employing ten local guides and taking over 500 adventurers into the wilderness every year. We've never lost sight of what made that first trip great: small groups, deep immersion, zero pretension.

Every tour is designed to challenge, delight, and leave you wanting more.

our values

1

leave it better than you found it.

We operate under a strict leave no trace policy on every tour, but we go further than that. We actively contribute to the maintenance of the trails, waterways and wilderness areas we use.

2

Small Groups, Big Experiences

We cap every tour at eight guests and we'll never change that. Not because we can't scale, but because we don't want to. Smaller groups move quieter, see more, and come home with stories that couldn't have happened any other way.

3

Honesty Over Hype

We'll always tell you if a tour isn't right for your fitness level, your experience, or the time of year. We'd rather have a frank conversation before you book than send you home disappointed. The wilderness is extraordinary enough without us needing to oversell it.

4

Safety Is non-negotiable

Every Yonder guide holds a current Wilderness First Responder certification, and every tour is risk-assessed before each departure regardless of how many times we've run it before. We brief thoroughly, we carry the right gear, and we make conservative calls when conditions require it.

our guides

Tom Crawford

Founder & Lead Guide

Tom has been leading people into the Victorian wilderness for over a decade, with a particular obsession with the Grampians that shows no sign of fading. A former park ranger and competitive trail runner, he founded Yonder in 2018 with a simple belief that small groups and expert guidance make for better adventures. When he's not on tour he's usually scouting new routes or overcooking something on a camp stove.

Jake Moreira

Operations Manager & Guide

Jake is the reason everything runs on time, the gear is always where it needs to be, and nobody has ever been left at a trailhead. Behind the scenes he manages logistics, equipment, and tour scheduling with a calm efficiency that the rest of the team relies on heavily. He's also a quietly excellent kayaker who occasionally reminds the guides who the better paddler is.

Priya Sharma

Senior Guide, Alpine

Priya grew up in the foothills of the High Country and has spent the better part of fifteen years exploring every ridgeline and river crossing in the region. She holds a Wilderness First Responder certification and a reputation for camp dinners that guests talk about long after the trip is over. Priya leads all of our alpine trekking tours from late spring through autumn.
